Hi, Betty and Andy.
Thanks for your answers re harmonic analysis and proper transcription of it.
I'm taking a Berklee College of Music online course on harmony, and the
lesson covers the harmonic and melodic minor scales. The teacher wants
us to learn not just the scales themselves and how to form them, but
also how they relate to the parallel major scale. The roman numeral
under the A-flat Major 7 for the C harmonic minor scale shows a bVI7.
My husband is helping make the course accessible by transcribing the
graphics on the web pages and the assignments in to Lime. I'm
responsible for proper format. I've got access to all the necessary
books and am trying to synthesize the information (NIM is a little
confusing, but the only reference I found that covers harmonic analysis.)
Thanks,
Dani
