Dear Mr. Keshri,
Welcome aboard to the world of the Musical Educational network for the
Visually Impaired. My name is Humberto and I, too, play keyboard and
arrange music with DAW software.
I can answer some of your basic questions regarding the LillyPond
software, as I have used it myself. What you would do, is write the flat
text document containing all of your musical notation laying out all the
codes for the notes, chords, intervals ETC. Such as:
C4 D E F |G A B C
The above code will print out two bars of quarter notes of the C scale.
All of the code for how to write the notes is fully and accessibly
explained in their HTML manual and you should receive the manual when
you install the LillyPond app. But basically you save the code with the
notes and all that into a text file with the extension .LY, then in File
Explorer assuming you use Windows, you just press enter on the file and
LillyPond software does its pretty magic, instantly laying out a .PDF
file containing a sheet music of your score, and optionally, if you
specify in the text file in one MIDI command, you have a .MID file that
you can play back as audio.
Hope all is this helps. by the way, LillyPond as you may have already
guessed, is fully accessible in that you do the music in a text file,
and you don't have to interface at all with any app. It is akin to more
like doing programming rather than manipulating the music graphically or
visually in GUI format.
Again hope this helps and let us know if you have any questions. Welcome
to the list!
Yours in Music,
Humberto
