Hi, I have not used Lilypond personally, but I agree with Bruce's thoughts.
Lilypond is accessible because it is a completely text-based system, but
you kinda have to think like a coder, so it is not intuitive. If you want
to notate music in notation software, learning something like MuseScore
(which is also very accessible) would be far more efficient.
