[Menvi-discuss] Accessible Digital Recorders

Hi all,

I have used several recorders. I really like the quality of the
Olympis recordings, and I've used a few different ones which had
talking and unspoken menues that were just really tactile. I have
also used the IPhone, but as an instrumentalist my favorite recorder
has been my BookSense. I like using this recorder because it's
accessible and can record directly into MP3, but more importantly the
option of slowing down playback is very useful for me. This way I can
slow down runs so I can hear all the notes more easily, and also play
along with them and gradually increase the speed as I become more
proficient at the passage, much like what I would do with a metronome.
I am honestly satisfied with the recording quality of the BookSense
on the top settings, but if you really want great quality you could
always buy an external microphone to go with it.
