Agreed. See what extra funding is available, and even consider 
using it to pay your private instructor a little extra for him/her 
time.

When I was in college, I had a hard time convincing my sighted 
peers to help me with some tasks outside of class, until, and this 
is the important point, I put some money up. I ended up applying 
for a small bursary and then offering people $10 an hour. You'd be 
amazed how quickly attitudes of starving poor students change. *grin*
