When the Braille Music Division was in session, we used two embossers, and our favorite was the Index Basic. Generally, the "funny things" you speak of at the end of files were caused by embossing directly from Duxburry when the file was not saved initially as a .BRF format. Also, be very certain that you have checked the dip switches on the back of the unit, as that can cause untold havoc. Additionally, sometimes users forget to re-set the global settings with files from Duxburry, but that would not cause strange text, only poor line and form feeds.
