[Menvi-discuss] piano technique: curving your fingers

The advantage of curving the fingers in my experience is to increase the
amount of control and maneuverability one has on the piano.
It is far easier to speed up and down the scales with curved fingers than
with flat and it is much easier to create the dynamics required in many
pieces. I find it also helps me with making notes legato and staccato.
It is kind of like typing. In general a person who curves their fingers
while typing can get out considerably more words than someone who has their
fingers flat.
But I'm just a beginner piano player myself, these are just the observations
I've made in my learning so far.
Thank you,
Brandon Keith (Biggs)
