Some additional info on your MuseScore questions

- Ctrl+Delete will remove whatever range you've selected. So you can
select a single bar or multiple bars, and Ctrl+Delete remove them Works on
partial bars too (leaving with an incomplete measure, like for a pickup).
But there is also "Tools / Remove empty trailing measures", which
automatically removes just the empty measures at the end of your score.

- You don't need special templates to write two voices on a staff - you can
do it with any staff. So, just create a score for "voice" as you
instrument and enter notes into voices 1 & 2 normally. If you need more
info on using multiple voices, be sure to see that section of the Handbook,
in the Basics chapter.
