Hello
My name is Reahna Robinson. I posted in this group a few years ago when I
was in high school. I am now a middle school choir teacher. I had a few
questions I have been thinking of asking the group.
1) Does anyone know if there are any 3d, tactile models of musical symbols
such as the staff, music notes, clefs etc I could purchase? Links would be
best. I do know of someone who does 3D printing, and I will be contacting
them.
I have a tactile staff on my board, but I would like something I can carry
around to show to individual students. I have magnetic music notes, but
they are too large to fit on the staff on my whiteboard. I remember my
music teacher having plastic notes she passed around, but I am not sure
where she purchased them.
2) Does anyone know how to delete measures in MuseScore for Windows using
NVDA? I am in the process of creating 8 measure sight singing exercises for
my students. However, sometimes there are extra measures left over, and I
would like to delete them.
3) For creating two-part SA music in MuseScore, how can I write it on the
same staff? I have found templates for SATB music with treble and bass
clef, but I have not been successful finding a template for SA or SSA
exercises.
4) Does anyone have a list of potential funding sources for braille music?
As of right now, the Division of Blind Services in Florida is paying for
the braille music I need for teaching. However, I am not sure how long this
support will continue, and for anyone who knows anything about vocational
rehabilitation services, you know obtaining services is not always an easy
process. My district is supportive and accommodating, but I do not want
this to be a barrier for me since I am still new to the district. I am
uncertain of how the budgeting would work if I went through the district.
If you have had experience with receiving for braille music funding from a
school district, please chime in on the discussion.
Thank you for reading. I am looking forward to learning from you.
Sincerely,
Reahna Robinson and Realm
