[Menvi-discuss] Question About a Double Octave Sign

Hello, MENVI Family!
I'm looking at the collected works of Scott Joplin, specfically the piece called "The Great Collision Crush March, and there's a double octave sign in the first four intro bars of both the right and left hands. Does this mean that all subsequent notes are played with the octave until the next section, or only the indicated first note? Thanks a lot.
