Hey everyone, I would like to know if any of you have done any recording and what your experience was like? I just finished doing vocals for my new album called the sounds of southern gospel. I think it will be released in about four to six weeks. I feel this is one of the best things I have ever done in my entire life. I pray that it will be a great success. Hello!  For those of you who are using MuseScore (free and open source music notation software) or are considering it, I have produced a series of free accessibility tutorials for the new MuseScore 4 release.  The accessibility of the UI is improved and for the first time supports VoiceOver and Narrator in addition to NVDA, JAWS, and Orca, so I think both long-time and new users will benefit from this.

There are five videos in the series, covering installation, score creation, note input, adding markings, and generally getting around the user interface, all using keyboard and screenreader.  They don't cover every feature of the program but are intended to get you up and running and to understand the accessibility features well enough to be able to take advantage of other traditional documentation such as the online Handbook or my online course.

 

I will also be doing a live stream on Wednesday at 12:30 PM Eastern time (17:30 UTC) where I'll do further demonstrations and take questions via chat.  If you'd like to participate, please be sure to create a (free) account on my website the Mastering MuseScore Community ahead of time, and I encourage you to introduce yourself there.

 

BTW, I also do live streams on music creation in general (not specific to MuseScore) on Thursdays at the same time, and this week's episode will be an audio-only episode where we talk about analyzing music by ear.  I think many of you may find that interesting as well!
