But NLS is definitely a member of ABC as they share their entire catalogue via it.  So they just haven’t signed up to the members catalogue for individual members to use as they think they are so big they have it all and you don’t need it if you are in the States, lol.

 

But you should be able to still request NLS to get things for you from other libraries and they will do this via ABC.  Can you at least browse the ABC catalogue without having a sign in or does it not even let you see what is there from your location.  South Africa may be the same.  Just because you can’t join the members catalogue doesn’t mean you aren’t one of the 117 I think it was at last count countries that are part of ABC through the library sharing programme.  So do ask your local blind organisation library whether they can get what you want on interloan from NLS.

Apparently Americans have the same problem, believe it or not! I tried accessing the ABC music catalog and hit roadblocks at every turn. Definitely frustrating.

Thank you for your mail. Unfortunately, South Africans still can't access anything via the Accessible Books Consortium. This is rather frustrating and disappointing, South Africa should really step up regarding this.

I know the American National Library Service, Braille Music Section has this. Check the ABC (Accessible Books Consortium) to see if you can get a BRF file sent to you. (Jeanie Willis recently posted the link to the site in her message about accessible piano teaching books.)

I hope you have all been having a good weekend. I'm looking for the piano part of Schumann's piano concerto in braille. Does anyone perhaps know where I could maybe get it, brf version or hard copy? I am not able to get it in South Africa, to my knowledge.
