Hi Ruby,
I think Goodfeel is really only designed to use for music, not all the other text in a book. You probably need to scan the pieces 1 at a time and create a separate Lime/GoodFeel file for each piece in the book. You could then emboss each one separately or you could select, copy and paste the Braille in GoodFeel into another Braille music editor that is designed to manually enter and edit the Braille.
Duxbury would be the best for that. You can’t cut and paste into its free version Perky Duck. You could try the Sao Mai Braille software as it is designed to handle both music and text well. I haven’t had much luck getting it working with my display with NVDA, but then I may not have correctly installed the NVDA Add On for it or something. You could also test out Braille Zephyr from nfb, I don’t know whether you can cut and paste into it or not.
But programmes like Duxbury that are designed for translation will allow you to convert text as well as lots of editing features that assist with things like page numbering, creating contents, page breaks, etc. They are kind of like the Microsoft Word equivalent of Braille and then imagine if you were creating a text book you would cut and paste the bits of music from the music notation software into it. The print music notation software like Sibelius, Finale, Muse Score etc aren’t really designed for handling lots of text either. I used to create large worksheets in Word and cut and paste little exported files from Sibelius into it. So the same process in Braille, just different software.
Hope that helps.
Jeanie

Hi Ella, Thank you really for responding to me. I'm actually using smart score note reader to scan into XML file then I use Lime-GoodFeel to get the music embossed into Braille. but if there are few pieces to be transcribed into Braille, it isn't coming properly at all. If I get only one piece scanned by by SmartScore Note Reader, I have hundred percent good results. I need exams pieces to be in Braille to teach my students, also how one gets the whole exam book to emboss with all the index and introduction and so many other text at the beginning of the book? GoodFeel doesn't Emboss correctly when there are text which is in all the exams books for instance, the composers brief histry will be written and so on, how to get every thing embossed into Braille all together? please help. Roger was doing it for me and sending them to my address to India and before Roger did, RNIB library people were sending the books for me before few years, before their printing machine broke down. Since I have an Embosser, I'd like to do them on my own, but I like to learn, and I very much need. any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Euby.
