i don't watch american idle. 
 i won't even participate in talent shows. everything's based on rather you can be marketed or not. 
 my friend chris rocket and i were talking about just this vary thing the other day. about how everyone's only making it because they are marketable. 
 by the way, chris is a friend of mine in the music industry. he's a marketing guru. he's up in the UK. 
 but anyway, marketing is one big process and not to mention, test. i say as such as they are always trying to find the next marketable sensation. 
 for example, if i went to a label and they signed me they would market me as a blind christian singer-songwriter. that would bring money as they used the blind card. 
 so, i go back to my original statement, marketing is a process and test.
