[Menvi-discuss] guitar class update

Hello,
I put dots on the top of my guitar for the 3rd and 5th fret so I could get
the positions at the start. You don't need them after a while, but if you
put them on the top of the neck, they should be fine.
Thanks,
Brandon Keith Biggs

It's not necessary to mark a guitar, just as it's not necessary to mark the
keys on a keyboard. Some classical students will put a mark on the back of
the neck where their thrumb will be for the second position. This is
something that can be learned from experience. I think you could use your
uncle's guitar without modification. Chris and others, can you vouch for
that?

Hi Kelsey,
Anyone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here, but yes, I
think you should investigate having your credits for the class
adjusted. If the guitar class and private lessons were both the same
amount it would be one thing, but when taking the group class isn't
the best option for you and the professor, disability services, etc
agree that private instruction is the way to go, penalizing you for
doing what will help you learn the same material seems silly to me. I
would try talking to either your advisor or your dean to see if an
exception could be made. Best of luck.
