[Menvi-discuss] Question about NLS?

One tear at a time is best. You can plan to tear and collate and bind while you are listening to an opera or a ball game or while you are chatting by phone with your buddies.

So on the topic of embossing books:

I embossed the whole book and no neighbors died, but I think I might.

Does anyone know if there is a quick way to tear the pages apart?

I started tearing them singaly, but I’m going insane because it is very slow and the book is kind of big.

So all you Braille book people, is there a way to fold the book so I can tear lots of pages at once? Or can I use a letter opener to zip through them?

Thank you,

Hello,

Yep, but I was meaning on NLS without being able to read the piece in any way.

They should at least give the key signature!

It's like Amazon listing an Opera, but not saying who the soloists are... NOT COOL!

LOL

Thank you,

You might need to ask one of your sighted classmates, or, if it's the final, your teacher to name the notes of the chord of the piece, and the notes of the cadences.

Find the last chord in the song; the root note of the chord will give you the key. Also, find the cadences of the song in order to determine whether it's in a Major or in a minor key.

Hello,

Is there an easy way to tell what key a song is? I want to know what key:

is, but I’m not sure how to other than printing it out.

Thank you,

Hello,

I want Arm Arm Ye Brave by Handel and I found it in this book:

http://www.loc.gov/cgi-bin/zgate.nls?present+450624+Default+6+1+F+1.2.840.10003.5.10+26+/cgi-bin/zgate.nls%3fACTION%3dINIT%26amp;FORM_HOST_PORT%3d/prod/www/data/nls/catalog/index.html,z3950.loc.gov,7490

I’m wondering if there is any way to just download one song so I can print it out? I don’t have a braille display and I have no idea how many pages this book is. Besides my neighbors might hate me after embossing a whole book, but I’m totally happy to suffer their enmity if this is what people recommend.

BTW for some reason there are all these awesome fantabulous low voice books I’m salivating over on NLS that I didn’t see last time I was on here last year. Is it that I learned how to search? XD... IDK but thank you to all you fantacular Braille transcribers for this low voice stuff!

Thank you,
