[Menvi-discuss] Copying Music into Lime for Analysis.

Hi all,

Thanks for the input.

I tried going the route of finding a sighted person to assist me in
getting both band music and theory examples into lime.  I even had the
permission of my principal to grant a student community service hours
which they could have used as part of our graduation requirements, but
no one from my classes seemed willing to do it.  No one else in my
family plays an instrument or even reads music.  Of course I'm hoping
and would think that in college this would be different, and that some
upperclassman music student would see it as relatively easy work for a
little money either from the university or myself if the college
wouldn't be willing to pay them for it, but it's always good to plan
for the worst case scenario.

The transcriber suggestion seems like the most viable option for next
year.  Please correct me if I'm wrong, but college professors don't
usually let the class dictate the speed at which lessons are taught,
right?  My teacher does that so that if the class is having trouble he
can give us more examples to work on, or if we understand a concept he
can teach something else.  This has the advantage of allowing him to
make sure we understand everything, and he can do that because the
class meets 45 minutes a day rather than an hour or so a week, but if
I were to be sending page numbers and examples to a transcriber this
year it wouldn't really work because he'd likely change examples or
add or subtract some.  I'm assuming that a college class won't likely
be that way, and I intend to contact a theory professor from my
college when it gets closer to school starting up, but just from the
experiences of others have classes ever gone that way in college?  As
long as the class was more structured with set examples, as I'm
assuming it will be if a professor sticks to a syllabus, then I think
this option should work.
