[Menvi-discuss] Renaissance music test!

Hello,
It sounds like a pair of britches that have extra thick material over the behind that poofs out to look like a sack. I would assume that the wearer has a pair of draw strings they can pull to increase or decrease the resonant in the chamber. That way the performer’s built in horn can send out the sound waves and create amplification and pitch, kind of like a kazoo.
I think this instrument died out because despite the extreme skill of the players, even the best performers still stunk.
Thanks,

Brandon Keith Biggs

Hello, list. Do any of you Renaissance music lovers know what a Sackbut is?
