Hi, Janet.
NLS loans out music. If your student is registered with the library for the
blind in her area, she can borrow music from NLs and it can be sent to her.
Or if she has a braille display, she can register for an account to download
electronic copies of music through NLS's Web-Braille program and use her
braille display to read from.
Karen Geerald heads the Braille Music section at NLS and her e-mail is:
karen118 at cox.net
In an earlier message when someone was searching for viola music, Karen
wrote:
"Definitely check www.loc.gov/nls, where you can perform a multiple-term
search specifying the key words "viola" and "music."" I think you could go
to the same web address and substitute "flute" for viola to see what's
available for your student.
HTH,
Dani

Subject: [Menvi-discuss] Braille flute music
I have a band student who is learning braille music and is just starting to
take private flute lessons. Her private flute teacher has contacted me
asking where she can get flute music in braille. Other than sending
everything to a transcriber, are there places that will loan my student (and
her parents) braille flute music?
Thank you,
Janice Stone
