Kelsey, do you know a little about how the print staff works?
lines, spaces, clef etc.?
You'll need to know that so you can compare and contrast how Music
Braille works. We don't have a staff, we have octave notations,
interval signs, etc.
As for posture, how good are your spacial concepts? Can you ask
your instructor if you can simply feel what him or her is doing?
Also, read up on the various parts of the mouth, face, throat,
abdomen, find where your diafragm is etc. so you have some idea
what your teacher is talking about when he or she describes things
to you.
I guess what I'm saying is that it goes both ways. You need to
explain things to your teacher, but you need to know what your
teacher is talking about as well, in terms of knowing the names of
various parts of your own anatomy.
