Yes.
Why can't we cross that barrier that maintains society's perception that
blindness is detrimental?
But then, we're still also dealing with racism, slavery, and other, perverse
constructs that arbitrarily place one human being below another.
It's a global crisis of social justice.

When I was in college, there was another blind student a year
behind me. More than once, one of his classmates approached me and
said they were extremely uncomfortable helping him take tests. He
always asked them for help with the answers! Poor me, I don't know,
can't you tell me and just fill it in?
Sighted people aren't doing us any favors by letting us get away
with crap like that. Not surprisingly, this guy didn't finish college.
