[Menvi-discuss] [braille-music-chat] Cross posted question about trumpet fingering

Glad you liked the jokes but apologies for veering seriously off-topic.
I'll try to reform. I don't get to play trumpet much these days but I do
remember some things about it like you are supposed to blow into the small
end, right?

Uh, so much for reforming. OK, I will stop now. But, attempting to come
back closer to the stated purpose of our list here, it would be interesting
to conduct a study to find out if the percentage of blind people who take up
the trumpet is significantly higher than that of sighted musicians. It is
my most unscientific and, as yet, un-provable theory the percentage actually
is higher. Or maybe it's just that we trumpet players tend to make more
noise than everyone else? Oops, there I go again.

But you have to admit that it's hard to forget somebody who you are just
meeting for the first time who says something like:

Hi, I'm a trumpet player too and I'm better than you!

Bill, I loved your 2 jokes and passed them on to our orchestra director at
church and the lead trumpeter. I have never heard either one before.
