Without knowing where exactly in the music the chord is, I can't help much.
I did look up the sheet music online and, in the key of D, the chords listed
for the guitar are: G, D7, C, C-minor, E-minor, A7, Dsus2, D-augmented,
A-minor, E7, B7, A-minor7, and C-minor-major-7.
Perhaps that helps...

I downloaded The 666 Fake Songbook from Web-
Braille and am having trouble understanding a chord symbol that comes up
in You're All I Want for Christmas (volume 29).
It looks like some kind of fifth chord. In ASCII it looks like this:

What is it supposed to be?
