Winy,
Maybe another way of describing the treble clef and bass clef, which Bettie did very well would be to say that the fat part of the Fancy G/violin encircles the second line, marking the G line. I tell my students that the dots of the bass clef are the "guards" of the F line, since they are on the top and bottom of the F line.
