<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-fareast-language:EN-US">I can no longer read large print music so I would like to learn using audio as I have been as well as possibly braille music. I realize sighted help will be required for scanning but it will require
less time than recording via mp3. I do have a budget to purchase Dancing Dots but if MuseScore will do the same thing then that might be a better option. I’d love to try Braille music but will have to see if an embosser or notetaker/display are in the budget.
The community band I currently play with has offered to purchase any software or equipment that I might need to make memorizing the music easier for me.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">If the goal is to produce braille music, then the Dancing Dots software - GOODFEEL in particular - is the obvious choice, since that is its primary function.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">If on the other hand the goal is to create print editions - including large print - then MuseScore is well-suited for that. It's also useful for reading the score via a screenreader (it can read the notes and other markings one at a time
as you navigate). But its braille feature features - while a nice start - are very limited.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Either way, the question is, how would you plan to get the music into the software, if all you have to work from is printed or PDF copies. Scanning software exists but is not that reliably and generally requires editing. The free PDF
import utility built into MuseScore is not very sophisticated, but if your budget allows purchase of a third-party PDF import solution, that might help somewhat. It's still likely to require a sighted musician to help get the music in and correct the errors
made during the import.<o:p></o:p></p>
