In essence grouping into beats, so if the time signature has crotchet beats you can group all four semiquavers, if dotted crotchet beats such as in 6/8 group 6 semiquavers. Where the print might use sub groupings with just one line along the top and groups of 4 with the double line below then group your semiquavers to those sub grouping, so for example in a dotted minim beat in 3/2. So basically stick to 4’s and 6’s.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='mso-fareast-language:EN-US'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='mso-fareast-language:EN-US'>The simple way to remember it is that if a whole beat is semiquavers and is followed by anything other than a quaver then use this method.
