style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" color=#000000 size=2 face=Arial>Hi
List.
I've started to pick up some violin again after some years.
I've
rented a violin, and did a course, learning songs by ear.
I've searched
online and Youtube how to add vibrato. But it's all visual!
Can someone
explain to me, maybe off-list how exactly to do it, wrist
movements,
etc?
Also, if someone has suggestions and tips how to hold the violin
without
using a shoulder rest. I didn't get a shoulder rest when i
rented it.
Good or bad, i don't know.
But my left arm gets sore and my
hand gets a bit sore too holding it in
that position.
I know i'm not
supposed to bend my wrist.
Some tips would be appreciated.
I'm
actually a pianist, but wanted to learn to play the violin since
it's
such a lovely sound.
At the moment i'm still getting used to placing my
fingers on the right
spots, but i'm getting that right
now.

Thanks,
Dewald.

--
DL van Deventer
Cell: +1
