[Menvi-discuss] Writing Chord and figured Bass in Lime?

Hello,
I would, but this is for the take-home final and I won’t see my teacher again. I could put them in another document, but that seems like it would be a hassle for my teacher. 
The other kids use MuseScore and don’t have this problem.

I have these instructions:

“Each of the first three lines on the second page is a short chord progression in a defined key

(each line is a new key). Analyze the phrase and write out the Roman Numerals (with figured

bass numbers) AND the Chord/Bass symbols for each line. The first line is in D minor, the

second line is in F# minor and the third line is in Bb major.

The last line on the second page contains two short harmonic cadences with the bass and soprano

voices already filled in. Figured bass numbers (6 5) are under some of the notes indicating that

chord is an inversion of a seventh chord. Fill in the inner voices (tenor and alto) to complete the

harmony of both cadence. Also name the cadence type (authentic, plural, half or deceptive)”

 

I’ve got 2 questions here:

First what should I use so my sighted professor can read the chord markings? I type something like: Mm/V/65/D to indicate the chord is a b 65 chord with a root of D in the key of e.

When I use chord markings the letters end up going behind the staff lines and because the teacher doesn’t use a screen reader they can’t see them. What would you suggest I use for both the chord markings and the cadence label?

Also my teacher writes figured bass numbers on his XML file and it doesn’t come over to Lime. Does anyone know why?
