I'm a trumpeter as well, had to do auditions a little differently, had
to have the score for the auditions ahead of time in order to perform
what they wanted, this was high school and well college was a bit
different in that I didn't get a score and he just picked scales and
wanted to see how how I could go, then told me trumpet wasn't for my
chops therefore I kplayed euphonium for three weeks then a
misunderstanding I wanted to be in the jazz band, went to a valve
trombone, mom took a picture of me playing it at home, oh how
embarrassing, but am back on my first love which wasn't a typical
crush, basically did all auditions based on recorded stuff and or just
winging it do to the fact the college didn't know and it was the first
time they have had a blind student, only survived that college one
year, Master's College. I also sang first tennor in the collegiate
singers, the only girl too in that section. My computer instructor was
very vocal in helping me musically, Dr. John S. Eickemeyer who I'm
friends with on facebook.
To all you trumpeters let us hook up, perhaps one day we shall jam!

"To me, music that breaks your heart is the music that stays with you
forever. It's one thing to be melancholy and one thing to be sophisticated,
but when you get the two of them together in a way people can relate to,
then I think you're on to something. You want the sophistication to lie in
the purity of the sound, the beauty of the arrangements, and the quality of
the performances."-Trumpeter Chris Botti
