[Menvi-discuss] conducting

Syl:

Good question. I've worked with several blind students and also have done research in that area, visited some schools, helped with The Summer Music Institute for College-Bound Musicians a couple of summers ago. I'm very involved with disability issues in my field of music theory. I have a blind student in my theory classes right now and have had two other blind students previously, in the last 5 years or so. I'm aware of many of the resources (including this list), can read braille, etc. Thanks for asking. I'm certainly not an expert, but maybe I can contribute to discussion as a sighted college instructor from time to time, with topics that are related to that!

Jeff

Jeff,
Maybe I missed the first act here, but I'm wondering how you knew to write into this discussion list...previous experience with blind students?
Thanks.
Syl
