yep, it's up to you Julie to show them that with a little 
open-mindedness and thought, you can do just as well if not better 
than your peers. Your teacher could turn into a real ally for you 
if you uh show him the light so-to-speak. *grin*

Not to mention, it's useful knowing how to conduct if you plan on 
doing any conducting in the future, even if it's just marking time 
in the air in front of you for a student or small ensemble.
