[Menvi-discuss] Descriptions of notes and rest--anyone?

whole rest hangs from the bottom of fourth  line from the bottom or second line from the top (5 lines)
quarter rest looks "squiggly."
half rest sits on the top of the middle line
treble clef looks like a fancy french violin or a very fancy  G
bass clef looks like a great big C with 2 dots after it---one dot above the other (one on top of the second line from the top--the F line--     and one below it.)  The dots encircle the F line

The chords are written on lines or spaces of the staff on top of one another if they are to be played together or in a long line if they are to be played broken.
