Via distance education, the Hadley School for the Blind (www.hadley.edu)
will soon begin offering a tuition-free course in braille music reading.
You can learn much about the intricacies of the braille music system by
downloading the "brf" files for INTRODUCTION TO BRAILLE music transcription
(SECOND EDITION) FROM WWW.LOC.GOV/NLS
Also helpful, and free for downloading, are the "brf" files of the 1997 BANA
braille music code (www.brailleauthority.org).
I am sure that these resources will meet many of your needs. Best wishes in
all of your musical endeavors!
Cordially,
Karen Gearreald

Subject: [Menvi-discuss] may I have chant to study braille music theory by E
Learning?
Dear all
My name is Yongsit Yongkamol saxophonist master student in Thailand. I don't
have much chant to study Braille music in advance. I just know basic Braille
but now I'm studying higher the theory and notation is more difficult. In
Thailand there aren't so many people who know Braille music. No one can
teach blind student as me to do music analysis, writing or typing music in
normal notation. Please give an advice can I have opportunity to study
Braille music course from far away by E Education or any kind of internet
learning? Also please advice for equipment or program which I have to have.
I already have Juliet Embossor, Tocata Braille translator and computer with
screen reader.
Thankful for kindest
Sincerely
Yongsit Yongkamol
